How to do WordPress increase upload size via cPanel

Hello friends, after a while, we are back again. Welcome if this is your first time here and for all who are my regular readers, welcome back, and thank you for your support.

We will talk about WordPress’s increase upload size today. We are all somehow facing issues, especially in this technology field. Some errors may differ from case to case, the reason why in this blog, I will take you step by step to help you fix these issues.

Step by step we will learn more than just the upload size so that by the end of this post, you can be able to increase your WordPress upload size and more.

There are different ways to do that, but in this blog, we will do it via cPanel.

Why is so important to increase upload size?
This happens when you have a file larger than the limit set on your server.
Choosing a good hosting provider is also important because the space and speed of your server help a lot.

Note that, this method is what I used myself when I faced this issue.

Here is what happened:
I recently changed my hosting provider from a slow hosting to a very fast hosting provider. My previous hosting provider had a hard disk drive (HDD), which is a traditional storage device that uses mechanical platters and a moving read/write head to access data, on their server, not even SSD storage. This was a bad experience using such slow hosting.

My new hosting is using NVMe. And the difference between SSD and NVMe is that SSD stores data by using integrated circuits while NVMe is an interface used to access the stored data at a high speed. NVMe is far advanced than SSD and hence is faster and better encrypted than the latter.

Here is the website content that I wanted to upload:

As you can see on the above image, my file to upload was 170 MB of 128 MB of upload size, and also I had 8MB size for post_max_size.

Here is the step I took to fix that:

Step 1: Log to the cPanel
Here is how cPanel looks once you log in:

Step 2: Type in the search box on the top for “select PHP Version” and click on the result, as you can see underlined with red.

Step 3: After opening that result, then go under <options>

Step 4: then scroll down until you will find those values and change yours to this as per image bellow

Maximum increase upload space

To increase the space upload depends on your hosting provider. Most of them allow only up to 512MB, but as for mine, It allows up to 2GB. So if you need to try my hosting which is the fastest under cloud technologies, it’s called: NameHero

Here is my limit size to show you what I am talking about:

To finish, note that doing those increase, when selected, it will be saved automatically then after, you can go back to you dashboard website, and reload the page. You will see now that the size has been increased to the number you have set in your cPanel.
That is all for today,
Thanks for stopping by my blog.
